Inscription in sumu ink on back of case gives the name of each sitter and the date; translation: at 10am on Meiji 33 (1900), Mr. Tomita, Mr. Kobayashi, Mr. Atsumi.

This is a wonderful studio portrait of 3 men - each has his hands folded and all have quite serious expressions.
