Photojournalist Bill Eppridge Passes Away; Photographed Beatles, Robert Kennedy

Photojournalist Bill Eppridge passed away early last month at the age of 75. He died at a Danbury, CT hospital after a brief illness from a fall. He had been a staff photographer for Life magazine and had covered such diverse events as the music invasion of the Beatles and the assassination of Robert Kennedy. Eppridge also worked for a number of other magazines including Sports Illustrated, National Geographic and Time.

Born in Buenos Aires, his family moved to the U.S. when he was as young boy.

He took some of the best known images after Robert Kennedy was shot. One of those images, published in Life magazine, shows the Senator lying on the floor in a pool of his blood, a hotel employee kneeling next to him.

A book of Eppridge photographs of the Fab Four, "The Beatles: Six Days that Changed the World. February, 1964," is coming out early next year.

Eppridge is survived by his wife, Adrienne Aurichio.
